Those following LBR Horse Racing Tips on Facebook stand the chance to join the owners for the horse's next race with free Grand National tickets plus a whole host of other racing paraphernalia.
Lee Bolingbroke, the owner of Viva Colonia was disappointed with the conditions his horse faced on the day of racing at Cheltenham. His website LBR Horse Racing Tips ran a similar competition prior to the Cheltenham festival. The conditions however on raceday squandered any chance Viva Colonia had of running to form and winning for the two lucky members track-side with connections.
Lee said “The conditions seemed to be going our way, as the track slowly dried on Wednesday and Thursday. Viva was set to race well in the festivals very last race, The Grand Annual Chase at 5.15pm. By that time the rain seen at the venue had really got into the ground and when the tapes went up any realistic chance for Viva was gone.”
Lee has decided that another competition was in order because the response to their initial unique Facebook competition was quite simply overwhelming.
Lee said “In fairness we knew the chance to join the connections of our horse at Cheltenham would go down well with our Facebook members. We did however underestimate just how potty this crowd is for this type of give-away! The response from that has led us to create another superb opportunity for four of our followers. The obvious thing to do now was for us to offer VIP Grand National tickets to the next group of winners.”
Lee's horse 'Viva Colonia' is now scheduled to race in one of two races at the Grand National meeting in early April. LBR Horse Racing Tips are running two VIP race day experiences for their Facebook fans. They are running one competition on the Thursday which will entitle two lucky winners to join Lee and his trainer with free Grand National tickets and to watch Viva Colonia race. Free champagne is thrown in plus if Lee's horse actually wins he will give the winner the racing silks actually worn by the jockey in the race itself. Quite a unique racing prize it must be said.
The second group of winners will be heading to Aintree with free Grand National tickets on the big day itself, Saturday 6th April. Lee has organised for the winners to gain entry in style with fantastic grandstand seats and the lucky winners will also be given a free bet worth £100.
Lee suggested that by promoting such VIP days at the races, he might help to introduce a new batch of young owners into the sport. In essence those winning the tickets on Thursday 4th April will be joining Lee and owning their own leg of a racehorse for the day.
