The Whitetail Deer hunting season has just opened in Texas on November 4th, with the Plaska Lodge opening up its 2000 acre game reserve for a High Fence hunting this season.
The Plaska Lodge manages 10,000 acres of prime hunting land, with 2000 acres of fenced hunting and 8000 open range hunting and is located 80 miles southeast of Amarillo, near Memphis, Texas. It boasts of a diverse terrain, ranging from deep canyons and cedar breaks to thick, brushy, rolling hills in the bottomland, providing the perfect sanctuary for deer hunts in Texas.
According to Oren Don Molloy, the owner of Plaska Lodge, “After years of open range hunting, we have implemented new management techniques for high fence hunting dedicated to the giant Texas Whitetail Deer. The Deer in Texas Panhandle is unlike any other, with their antler size and body weights being double the size of their southern counterparts. With high fence hunting, we are now providing avid hunters with the opportunities for taking one of a kind trophies they’ll cherish forever.”
The team at Plaska Lodge has worked closely with the Texas Parks and Wildlife and other wildlife consultants to provide the ideal habitat for the healthy and sustained growth of their Whitetail Deer population. Apart from their guided Whitetail hunting, the Lodge also has a high Desser Mule Deer population that is also popular, along with a number of gigantic wild boar, wild Bobwhite quail, and wild turkey.
To maintain the quality of their game, the lodge closely monitors the rate of birth, body mass, antler mass, to provide better overall nutrition and control predation, making sure that the deer grow to full maturity before they are harvested.
Apart from the Whitetail hunt, the lodge also organizes Rio Grande turkey hunts and wild hog hunts every season. To learn more Texas Whitetail Hunts and other exotic hunts hosted by Plaska Lodge, visit their official website at http://plaskalodge.com/
