Announcing WeKinFolk: A New Digital Space for Black Culture
WeKinFolk officially launched as a Black-owned social media platform dedicated to fostering a positive and inclusive space where Black culture, history, and community can thrive. Offering the key features found on mainstream social media platforms, WeKinFolk serves as a safe space where Black users, as well as allies, can celebrate cultural pride without fear of judgment. This new platform’s mission is to amplify Black voices, honor heritage, and provide a digital village where all users can feel at home, while making connections in a secure environment.
The platform’s creator, Ernest Manning Jr., emphasizes the need for more culturally inclusive spaces in today’s digital age. “Our community deserves a space that celebrates and uplifts our voices,” Manning explains. “WeKinFolk is a space of pure positivity, cultural expression, and appreciation of our heritage.”
Filling a Unique Role in Social Media
WeKinFolk stands apart from other social networks by dedicating itself fully to the Black community. While other platforms provide broad, general engagement, WeKinFolk’s purpose is rooted in preserving and honoring Black culture. It seeks to create a safe, welcoming community with a positive atmosphere, open to everyone who values Black culture and respects its contributions to society.
In addition to hosting general social networking features, WeKinFolk offers exclusive content, discussion spaces, and resources that users won’t find on other platforms.
