-- On behalf of Principal Adan Lopez, College, Career and Technology Academy (CCTA) is thrilled to have partnered with El Paso, TX Car Dealers Viva Auto Group in presenting a deserving graduating senior with a car. CCTA is a school within the EPISD made up of mostly at-risk students. More than half of the school's population are pregnant and/or are parents of young children. The school also has a high percentage of homeless students.
Adan Lopez, CCTA’s Principal, stated “We sincerely appreciate Jimmy, Dick, and Viva for their commitment to our goal of helping these students receive their high school diplomas. The opportunity to win a car has made this graduating class strive even more to make A's and B's this semester, which was one of the requirements to qualify for the car. Other requirements were good attendance and involvement in extracurricular activities. The final step was to write an essay explaining why they deserved to win a car. A committee was in place to read and rank the essays to determine the winner.”
Viva Auto Group announced the winner at a school-wide assembly on Wednesday, June 1st, at 3 p.m. in the CCTA school cafeteria. Principal Lopez asked Jimmy to bring a few cars from which the winner could choose their preference. This car giveaway will be an ongoing commitment by Jimmy Dick and Viva Auto Group.
As Principal Lopez continued, “We thank the team at Viva Auto Group for helping to promote this worthwhile project for the students in our community. We consider Viva to be one of the best Car Dealerships in El Paso and are extremely grateful for all of the ways that they have invested in the exceptional students who attend College, Career and Technology Academy.”
