Family Festivities

Kicking off on 20 December to Christmas Day Thredbo's Christmas Carnival is the ultimate excuse for families to celebrate the festive season in the mountains. Unique Dining Experiences

New Year’s Eve at Cascades offers a decadent five-course dinner by Head Chef Sebastian Doyle and three-hour beverage package before celebrations continue at the Alpine Bar, bringing the new year in at one of the highest points in Australia.

As part of the 31st annual Thredbo Blues Festival from 16-18 January, guests can elevate their weekend with exclusive dining events, including the Eagles Blues Lunch and the Cascades Blues Dinners. These experiences pair the festival’s iconic live music with delicious cuisine in Thredbo’s most celebrated venues.

Then, the Snowies Beer, Food & Wine Festival Dinner on 23 January invites guests on an extraordinary culinary journey. Thredbo’s head chef, Sebastian Doyle, will present five meticulously crafted courses, each paired with a selection of beer, wine, and cocktails, creating a flavour-driven experience that celebrates the best of the region.

Summer Live Music

Alongside the Thredbo Blues Festival, Thredbo will host the Summer Music Series presented by Balter - a free outdoor concert series that has become a favourite among live-music lovers. Set against the backdrop of the Alpine Bar, guests can enjoy balmy afternoons and mountain sunsets accompanied by great tunes.

The series kicks off on December 27 with Jack Biilman, followed by a New Year’s Eve performance from Spindrift Saga. Music continues into the new year with The Department of Noise on January 3 and Thrillhouse on January 10.

Thredbo has also confirmed that Hockey Dad will be performing at the Alpine Bar on 14 February, headlining what’s set to be a huge closing party for the Cannonball MTB Festival presented by Boost Mobile.

Summer Of Adventure

Beyond its headline events, Thredbo offers a summer packed with world-class alpine adventures.

Visitors can join one of Thredbo’s Guided Hikes, exploring breathtaking high-altitude landscapes and ticking off iconic summits, with some tours even offering the chance to experience the magic of the mountains after dark on select guided night hikes - all led by experienced local guides.

This year also sees the return of the Defender Drive Experiences, inviting guests to find their peak and take the road less travelled in the comfort and luxury of the unstoppable Defender.

For mountain bikers, Thredbo’s MTB School offers progression for every rider level, from Intro to MTB sessions on the valley floor to MTB Fundamentals on the Cruiser beginner trails, and advanced Progression Clinics or Private Lessons for those looking to take their skills to the next level.
