The Scene Is Set For Scintillating French Open

This year's French Open is shaping up to be one of the greatest of all time, with an exhilarating battle for the men's and women's title on the way.

The French Open is here and it could hardly be more exciting. The men's draw in particular is a mouthwatering one, with Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic drawn in the same half. Roger Federer, meanwhile, has an almost clean run through to the final. Fedex has been ruled out by many to win another French Open title, but with the draw in his favour he might just stand a chance of clinching an incredible triumph that would add to his G.O.A.T credentials.

The 2013 Roland Garros has already served up some superb matches. Gael Monfils has lit up Court Philippe Chatrier with two breathtaking displays, and plucky underdogs such as Daniel Brands and David Goffin have demonstrated what this event is all about.

The women's draw also has the potential to get the fans on their feet in Paris. As things stand, Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova are on a collision course for the final, despite the looming threat of top class WTA players fighting to prevent the finale from being a meeting between the world's two highest ranked players. Victoria Azarenka is still in the mix with a chance to upset proceedings, despite the fact that clay isn't her favourite surface.

There have also been encouraging signs from Na Li and Sam Stosur in the early stages. Both players have the weapons to step up their game for the big occasions, and Li of course is a former champion here.
