HALO, the revolutionary new leather folio designed for modern life, is live on global crowdfunding platform Kickstarter and raising funds to bring the project to life.HALO originated through years of frustration when traveling, working and just running errands. "At Gallantoro, Sam and I have always tried our best to find and source the highest quality, unique items from around the world. Whether that be watches, leather bags, portable kegs, chess sets, or leather compendiums. One thing we noticed with the compendiums or carry-all’s, is that they were one of two things: cheaply made, or well made but way too expensive,” says founder Roger Sciberras on the inspiration behind the project. “A time came when Sam and I decided, this is something we can do, and do better. So we made a commitment to make it the only way we know how - that is to keep in the tradition of the Gallantoro ethos, and have it made by hand, in Australia, using Italian leather.”

To launch, HALO is available in 4 luxurious colors; black, cobalt, butterscotch and chestnut. It has been designed with Italian Sundance leather which is a beautiful rustic full-grain Italian leather. It is finished with oils and waxes which produces the effect of a very natural, warm appearance. Each HALO is handcrafted in Australia using classic craft and leather-working techniques, machinery, materials, tools and more.
“Now, typically everything is made in a faceless factory on some distant shore. So apart from the classic quality found when a man works with his hands with passion for the work, we spent months sourcing the materials and hardware that reflect the quality we’re after. We found the finest and most durable yet visually appealing leather from Italy, as well as the highest quality and strongest zippers, also made in Italy,” adds Sciberras. “In fact, we considered everything down to the thread used in the stitching. Also, we’ve cut out a lot of the gimmicky clutter in our design. Taking the best aspects and most practical components and eliminating the rest.”
