In Tuan Khairy Jamaluddin’s speech, he shared his experience of learning Mandarin at the age of 48, emphasizing that learning is a lifelong process and challenging himself to master the Mandarin language. He also reminded everyone of the importance of appreciating Malaysia's diversity, which is a valuable asset. He stressed that this diversity should be celebrated, with examples such as Malays singing Chinese songs, Chinese singing Malay songs, and Indians singing Malay songs. His speech concluded with congratulations to the event organizers, Mr Kent Ng and JCI Group.
According to Mr. Kent Ng, founder of KunKwan and The KOL Academy, the Suara Semua Carnival was held to celebrate the diversity of everyone's voices, aligning with KunKwan's values of fostering mutual understanding through language and culture. The collaboration with JCI Malaysia was due to the organization’s active role in empowering youth to bring about positive changes, in line with the close Malaysia-China ties as key trading partners. Singing competitions were chosen because songs are the best medium for learning languages and cultures. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the event and hoped everyone would enjoy the performances.
The main goal of the establishment of Kunkwan is to improve language ability for all Malaysians who do not use Mandarin as their mother tongue. This initiative allows Malaysians to improve their competitiveness by learning Mandarin, as well as eradicating poverty regardless of race and religion.
