Steph Adams, bestselling author and former art director at British Vogue and Harper's Bazaar, has received a 2026 Global Recognition Award. The honour recognises her 30-book publishing career, 400-plus interviews, and sustained work to promote diverse voices across global platforms.

-- Bestselling author, former art director, and women's empowerment advocate Steph Adams has received a 2026 Global Recognition Award, an honour presented to individuals demonstrating exceptional achievement across Leadership, Service, Innovation, and Artistic Accomplishment.

Adams' recognition caps a career of more than two decades, one that began on the runways of Perth and extended to the most prominent editorial offices in the world. Global Recognition Awards uses the Rasch model to measure achievement on a linear scale across multiple categories and found that Adams scored highest across all assessed dimensions. This result reflects the depth and range of her contributions to global publishing and women's empowerment.

A Career Shaped by Purpose

Adams entered the industry as a model at age 12 in Perth, Western Australia, building an international modelling career over the following decade before earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. She later worked as an art director at some of the world's most prominent publications, including British Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Marie Claire, Vogue Australia, and Condé Nast Traveller.

Among her earliest notable achievements was designing the layout for the first-ever print magazine at Net-a-Porter, a milestone in luxury retail publishing that demonstrated her creative range and her instinct for consequential work.

From 2008 to 2016, Adams led Steph Adams Creative, a creative direction firm specialising in luxury and commercial branding, coffee-table book publishing, and design across fashion, beauty, and lifestyle. That experience gave her subsequent publishing output a visual and conceptual coherence that distinguishes it from conventional literary work.

30 Books, 400 Interviews, and a Global Platform

Adams has published 30 books, 23 of which are bestsellers. Titles include Fashion, 100 Voices of Power, Global Voices in Fashion, The Etiquette of a Lady, Keep Your Heels High, Paris Fashion: The World of Paris Fashion Through the Eye of an Author, and Women Who Wear Dior. Each book is built around a defined cultural thesis rather than a standard celebrity-interview format, an approach that positions her work as literature, visual art, and artistic record simultaneously.

Her most recent title, Powerhouse: A Legacy, published in October 2025, was nine years in the making from concept to completion, with seven of those years dedicated to interviews. The book ranks among the most thoroughly researched works of its kind in contemporary publishing.

Over the course of her career, Adams has conducted more than 400 interviews with figures from film, royalty, sport, fashion, and business. Subjects include Hollywood director and producer Clint Eastwood, Formula 1 executive Susie Wolff, Princess Jahnavi Kumari Mewar of India, Princess Tatiana of Greece, Charlotte Tilbury, Elle Macpherson, Rachel Zoe, Jo Malone, Aerin Lauder, HRH Prince Nereides Antonio Giamundo de Bourbon, and New York television anchor Rosanna Scotto.

Her Instagram platform, built organically over more than 15 years, has grown to over 4 million followers and serves as an extension of the values in her books, including empowerment, inclusivity, and cross-cultural exchange.

Recognition Grounded in Measurable Impact

Adams has previously received two awards recognising her work to showcase more than 200 women from diverse backgrounds, as well as her sustained commitment to inclusivity and representation. The 2026 Global Recognition Award joins those honours as part of her broader career record.

"Steph Adam’s career is built not on a single achievement, but on decades of disciplined creative work, genuine cultural contribution, and an enduring commitment to amplifying the voices of others," said Alex Sterling, spokesperson for Global Recognition Awards. "Her impact on global publishing and women's empowerment is measurable and enduring."

Women's empowerment is not incidental to Adams' career; it is its organising principle. From her earliest titles through Powerhouse: A Legacy, every project she has undertaken has been grounded in the conviction that diverse voices deserve prominent platforms, and she has consistently backed that conviction with action on an international scale.

The 2026 Global Recognition Award formally acknowledges that contribution, recognising a career that has moved with consistent purpose across modelling, art direction, creative direction, and publishing.
