Sportable, the athlete's social network app, has released a new version. The app has a number of new features, including messaging and Fitbit connection.

-- Sportable is an app for athletes that gives users access to a social network of other athletes. The app features a host of third-party integrations, including Strava, Peloton, MindBody, and more, enabling users to add other health applications to track and share their training and activities, bringing all of their apps into one place. The app also includes a bucket list feature to help users to create and track personal fitness goals and a medal rack for showing off accomplishments. The starting line search even allows users to look for like-minded athletes using the app when they are waiting for a race or event to begin.

Users can create a profile and keep track of their challenges, as well as share with, collaborate with and encourage other athletes. The app welcomes everyone from beginners to more experienced athletes, encouraging runners, cyclists, swimmers, triathletes and more to get involved with the platform. QR Code technology allows users to quickly connect with other athletes to share photos and training information. There are more than 35,000 races on the app, which can be added to user profiles. Users can also upload pictures and videos of their races, medals and workouts. They can list their current gear and share performance feedback.

"For years, athletes never had a place to track and share all of their athletic activities and accomplishments, nor a way to stay connected with all of the people they met at various events from 5k races to marathons, triathlons and Ironmans, to your regular gym buddies at a spin class. In addition, at events like races, athletes meet a lot of people where they find out what's next on the race list, yet they don't stay in touch via traditional social networks. Facebook is too personal; LinkedIn is too professional. With Sportable you can stay connected and continue to see the bling that other athletes are showing off and get ideas for the next big race," said Rich DeMonte, Sportable's Head of Product.

The new version of the Sportable app includes a variety of new features, such as messaging, to make contact between users easier and faster. Users can also import contacts, making it easier to add people that they know. A number of new integrations are available, including Fitbit connection, MapMyFitness connection, and ClassPass connection, enabling further tracking of performance data. A miles to kilometers converter provides a handy tool that makes it possible to track distances simply. The app also has plenty of new courses and races for users to choose from. These can be added to their challenges and Bucket List so that they can be set as goals and marked off as they are completed.

The iOS app can be updated or downloaded from the Apple App Store and is available on both iPhone and iPad. The app is free to download, and the latest version (1.6.1) requires iOS 10.0 or later.
