Spimbey Offers a Modern Modular Design Upgrade and a Spark of Nostalgia to the Classic Backyard Playset

Live on Kickstarter, Spimbey Swiss designed wooden playsets fit into a modern household aesthetic.

Spimbey, the revolutionary new modular playset for kids which aims to get kids off their gadgets and into the real world, is live on Kickstarter and a breakout crowdfunding success having already hit their initial raise goal.

Today’s children are spending more time than ever on screens and harmful material can often escape even the strictest of filters. Children these days don’t know what its like to spend countless hours outside until they’re called in for dinner. Many of the best memories from childhood can be traced back to the imaginative world of backyard forts and treehouses. There is nothing quite like carving out a magical place away from the grown-ups. To make this experience even more joyful, Spimbey has designed all new playsets that are safer, prettier and a lot more fun.

“Growing up in Spain and The Netherlands, I spent endless hours as a child exploring with friends. Neighborhood parks turned into entire worlds and play structures into castles, and these adventures became some of his fondest memories as a child, says founder and creator Mark on the inspiration behind the project. “As I begun to raise my own child, Julian, I wanted to recreate these same magical experiences for my family.

Spimbey is a completely Modular playset. Parents can order more components or less based on the space available. Available pieces which can be used standalone or combined include the classic 3-position swing, the playhouse, playdeck, climbing wall, ladder, slide, sandpit, picnic benches and more. Spimbey comes in a fine selection of easily swappable pastel tarps and accessories available in 4 incredible colors. Parents can snap on or snap off tarps to get different color combinations or choose from some of a multitude of fun templates.

Spimbey utilizes no dangerous chemicals for lumber treatment. The wood is stained with water-based paint and naturally rot-resistant. Assemble is also a breeze thanks to pre-drilled holes, pre-number and pre-cut parts, pre-assembled parts and structural Swiss engineering. From start to finish, the playset is designed to be as easy and quick as possible with average assemble time of less than an hour.

“Kids are constantly connected to the digital world through their phones and tablets. It is crucial for your children to have actual physical playtime. Spimbey playsets are designed to appeal to their inner adventurers and encourage them to leave the digital world behind,” adds Mark. “We want to .offer something pure and honest for the backyard… .real social interaction, physical movement, touching, and climbing.

Experience low tech play fun in an increasingly all-digital world. Spimbey is currently live and available to support on Kickstarter: www.kickstarter.com/projects/1352991611/spimbey-a-new-modular-playset
