-- Shark Tutor LLC announces the availability of its SAT tutoring service for high school students. The service is provided in person in Greenwich and nearby; virtual service is available across the United States. It addresses the digital SAT through individual or small-group sessions based on each student’s test schedule, learning needs, and score goals.
“Each student begins with a proctored baseline test so that the tutoring plan can address identified strengths and weaknesses,” said Sharon Kistler, founder of Shark Tutor LLC. “The process includes scheduled instruction, assigned practice, and test reviews.”
The program gives students access to an SAT tutor in Riverside, Connecticut, whom families can consult for structured preparation. Students meet with the tutor each week for at least three months before their first exam date. After each session, the tutor assigns at least 1.5 hours of work tailored to the student’s needs. This sequence connects instruction with continued practice between meetings.
During the final month before the examination, students may complete up to two progress tests. The results allow the tutor to review readiness and determine which areas require further attention. The program also accounts for test planning, as most students take three SAT examinations during the year.
Shark Tutor LLC contributes to student preparation by combining baseline assessment, weekly instruction, independent work, progress measurement, and exam scheduling. Sessions cover the digital test format, timing tools, content strategies, focus, and test-day preparation. Mock testing and analysis also form part of the tutoring process.
“Progress testing provides information that can guide the remaining sessions before the examination,” Kistler added. “Communication with parents also helps align the preparation schedule with test dates and student progress.”
Kistler has more than 20 years of coaching and tutoring experience with over 1,000 students. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Princeton University in 1981 and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia University in 1986.
