These added homes will allow the company to keep up with increasing demand for senior care services, a demand that is only expected to grow in the coming years, SeniorCareCarolinas.com reports.

-- Senior Care Carolinas, a family care senior home specialty group, announces they have added featured homes in the communities of Breckenridge and Melbourne. The Family Caregiver Alliance reports 713,300 individuals were living in a residential care facility in February, 2015. Elderly age 70 and older remain the fastest growing segment of the population, however, thus more of these assisted living facilities in Cornelius NC will be needed in the future. Senior Care Carolinas continues to work to meet this demand.

"Our firm has invested the last six years focusing on providing assisted living care for seniors and disabled individuals in a family care home environment. I got into the business due to my love for the elderly population and strong desire to meet the individual needs of each person and allow them to live a dignified life," Melissa Lynch, owner of Senior Care Carolinas, explains.

The residential family care market differs from larger assisted living centers in that it must meet the same state licensure standards, but does so in a smaller individualized environment. Individuals living with dementia or Alzheimer's disease or those who require assistance with day to day tasks benefit from this setting, as opposed to being placed in an institutional environment. Services offered include linen service, a wellness program, medication assistance, a secure perimeter and special dietary menus.

"We treat your loved one as one of our own. It's hard to leave a loved one in a care center such as this, as it can lead to family members wondering if their loved one has all they want and need to enjoy life to the fullest. We understand this and care for our patients in a loving, warm environment. Families of our patients have peace of mind knowing this is the care. We strive to truly offer the best when it comes to NC assisted living facilities" Lynch continues.

In 1999, the Supreme Court handed down the Olmstead Decision. This decision upheld a person's right to receive treatment in a community, as opposed to being placed in an institution to receive this care. However, many facilities remain unlicensed, thus families may find their loved one isn't receiving the care they need. This isn't the case with assisted living facilities in North Carolina. They must meet all state standards for this type of facility, thus it is the extra care that the individual receives which will be the deciding factor for most when choosing a placement for themselves or their loved one.

"Our activities coordinator works with each resident and his or her family to create a personalized plan that allows the resident to engage in activities they truly enjoy. Staff members remain dedicated to providing excellent, individualized senior care at all times. Families are welcome to visit at any time and we encourage them to do so. We are here to keep all happy and do everything in our power to ensure this is the case," Lynch declares.

About Senior Care Carolinas:

Family care assisted living homes offer a great alternative to larger assisted living or skilled care communities. Senior Care Carolinas provides a nurturing nursing home alternative environment. Homes are featured in Charlotte, NC and the surrounding communities, including Highland Creek, Huntersville, Lake Norman and future North Carolina locations. The homes provide specialized aging services to adults who require assistance with daily living and those with dementia or Alzheimer's. They provide all of the benefits of an assisted living center, but on a smaller scale. Most homes only house two to six residents. Senior Care Carolinas understands the need to preserve one's dignity and strives to encourage the independence, freedom and respect for all residents.
