To realize its long-term vision of becoming a "logistics company with a strong presence in the global market", the NX Group has positioned the Indian market as a key strategic base and currently operates 103 sales offices and 60 warehouses (offering approximately 4,499,000 square feet in storage space) in 39 cities throughout India. The "India Development Group" was established in July 2025 to enhance its business expansion capabilities.
The state of Maharashtra is the single-largest contributor to India's economy, accounting for about 13.5% of the country's nominal GDP *2, and it boasts robust logistics infrastructure composed in part of a railway network extending over 6,310 km, 18 national highways, 2 major ports and 48 non-major ports, as well as a total road length of about 328,000 km, and three international airports *3. The state has offered tax breaks, subsidies, and other incentives under its "Maharashtra State Logistics Policy 2024" and developed systems for accepting investment such as "Japan Cell", a one-stop window for Japanese companies, and the Supa Japanese Industrial Park. These efforts have further increased the state's importance as an Indian manufacturing and distribution hub.
During the delegation's visit, representatives of the Maharashtra State Government engaged in dialogue with NX Group executives on the possibility of strategic collaboration in logistics, industrial development, and investment promotion and sought to lay the foundations for joint initiatives aimed at realizing the Indian government's "Viksit Bharat 2047*4" vision.
The five-member delegation led by Dr. P. Anbalagan, Secretary (Industries), Government of Maharashtra, was received by NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS Managing Executive Officer Satoshi Otsuji and NX South Asia & Oceania President Katsuto Kobayashi. Their meeting covered such topics as the expansion of the NX Group's business in India and, in view of the logistics and investment environment in growth-driving Maharashtra, a logistics hub concept centered on that state. The two parties agreed to continue meeting in pursuit of closer cooperation to achieve greater industrial development in India.
The NX Group remains committed to further expanding its global network to provide high-quality logistics services to customers around the world.
