Ruby Reef Introduces Kick-Ich PRO, A New Treatment for Managing Ich in Aquatic Environments

Share this news:

The latest product from Ruby Reef, Kick-Ich PRO, targets the infectious stages of Ich in both freshwater and marine aquariums, promising efficacy without compromising biofiltration.

Ruby Reef, a pioneer in aquatic disease management, has announced the release of Kick-Ich PRO, a new formulation engineered to combat Ichthyophthirius multifiliis, commonly known as Ich or white spot disease. This product is designed to target the disease during its infectious stage, offering a solution that is effective in various aquatic settings, including tanks containing sensitive species such as corals and invertebrates.

Dr. Sam Grillo, founder and chief scientist at Ruby Reef, emphasized the scientific foundation behind the product's development. "With Kick-Ich PRO, our goal was to create an ich medicine for fish that not only addresses the disease effectively but does so in a manner that is safe for the entire aquarium ecosystem," said Dr. Grillo.

Kick-Ich PRO is formulated to act on Ich during its most vulnerable stage without negatively impacting the aquarium's biofiltration system. The recommended treatment involves adding 2 ounces of Kick-Ich PRO per 32 gallons of aquarium water, tailored to treat effectively while ensuring safety for all aquatic life, including fish, plants, and more delicate organisms.

Ruby Reef recommends integrating Kick-Ich PRO into a comprehensive aquarium management regimen to achieve the best outcomes. This includes adjusting the protein skimmer operation and maintaining water quality through regular changes. Continued treatment for at least two weeks after the last visible signs of Ich ensures a thorough eradication of the pathogen.

The product's environmental impact has been carefully considered. Kick-Ich PRO is biodegradable, clearing from the aquarium within three to five days after stopping treatment, which supports maintaining the natural balance within the aquarium environment. This feature positions Kick-Ich PRO as a prime option for aquarists seeking effective and environmentally responsible reef-safe ich cure solutions.

"Aquarium health is our top priority, and with Kick-Ich PRO, we are advancing our mission to provide aquarists with tools that are both effective and safe for their aquatic systems," said a company spokesperson. "We believe this new treatment will become an essential part of aquarium care routines, helping to preserve the health and beauty of aquatic environments."
