-- RooSport, founded by husband and wife team Earl and Brenda Brundage and their three daughters, just launched a Kickstarter campaign for their new line of discreet and practical magnetic pockets, designed for runners, travelers, and adventurers of all types. The RooSport can attach to any garment to help the user carry personal items and charge their phones no matter where they go.
“I was a stay at home mom with a background in sewing and ran a business sewing for local decorators,” said Brenda Brundage, co-founder of RooSport and passionate marathon runner. “The idea started with a friend who was an elite triathlete. He asked me to create a small pocket for him and we pinned it onto his shorts. He loved it! During daily runs we found it so useful that I decided to create a pocket that anyone could use on their existing running wear. One day, I came up with the idea of magnets. After several prototypes, I developed the design for the RooSport.”
The latest release by RooSport is the PowerPocket -- a lightweight, durable, water-resistant magnetic pocket. It comes with a portable battery bank that provides a full charge on any phone, and can be recharged over 500 times. Each battery bank includes a dual-USB cable which fits both iPhone and Android devices.
RooSport is designed to complement and enhance an active lifestyle. It was inspired by the founders’ love and appreciation of the great outdoors, as both co-founders wanted a watch that customers could easily integrate into their daily lives.
“The RooSport collection has been a positive change for runners and athletes everywhere.”, says Brundage. “It is comfortable, and the biggest comment we get is ‘I didn’t even know I was wearing it!’ It creates a pocket in anything you are wearing and its applications are endless.”
In exchange for pledging to the project, backers can choose from ten different styles of varying sizes and colors, starting at $23. Each PowerPocket features two water-resistant pockets which attach magnetically to any garment, and a power back for Android and iOS devices. Backers can expect to receive their PowerPockets in December.
