-- On August 8th 2025, Ronnie Cane, the neurodivergent founder behind The Neurodiversity Directory, has today launched a new parent venture: The Neurodiversity Company - focused on building and installing the infrastructure neurodivergent lives depend on.
Diagnosed late with autism and ADHD at age 21, Cane went on to found Eighteen Agency — a creative agency staffed entirely by neurodivergent talent — serving as Managing Director before recording his first company exit. Over a three-year period, the agency generated more than £1.2m in new business, primarily across the neurodiversity sector. In early 2025, Cane exited the business completely to focus on what he calls “the vacuum” — the gap between the lives of neurodivergent people and the infrastructure and systems that support them.
It was this work at the now-sold firm that led to the publication of The Neurodiversity Directory in January of 2025 — a global discovery platform that centralises the neurodiversity ecosystem for neurodivergent individuals, families, professionals, and organisations. After quietly publishing the platform as a solo side project, it quickly gained traction as the obvious go-to infrastructure within the space.
“Support for the neurodivergent human either hides naively in plain sight, or doesn’t exist at all; while the typical bodies and authorities remain dumbfounded at the profound underlying needs for intervention, as usual, claiming plausible deniability.” says Cane. “So I stopped waiting to see if someone else would do anything about the space, and started building the ecosystem and life I needed to operate within it for the foreseeable.”
With today’s launch of The Neurodiversity Company, Cane now brings that same psychology-led, systems-first mindset to the wider mission. The company will continue to publish and expand The Directory while introducing further initiatives designed to solve deep structural issues in the neurodiversity landscape.
“I know that I’m the inevitable bridge between the neurodivergent and the sector that claims to serve them, and now the public have heard me say it.” says Cane. “The Neurodiversity Company is going to burst the bubble of neurodiversity and instigate the impact required to make a real dent.“
