-- Pendolis, the all new timepiece brand making luxury watches affordable, is live on global crowdfunding platform Kickstarter and raising funds to bring the project to life.
For far too long, luxury watches have been out of reach for the average consumer. Inefficient production models and artificially high markups hiding behind a false scarcity model and brand names have led to an industry in desperate need of disruption. With a direct to consumer model, Pendolis is cutting out the middleman while optimizing the manufacturing process to allow the greatest luxury at the most accessible prices.
"Having optimized the supply chains for other people, we wanted to partner up and apply our experience to an industry that has allowed inflated prices to hide inefficient supply chains,” says co-founder Troy Langby on the inspiration behind the project. “We have long had a passion for luxury watches but found the nicest designs to be out of reach due to the high prices. We are now closing the gap between luxury and affordability by streamlining the value chain for all customers.”
Pendolis is launching with two luxury watch models which pay homage to two genuine pioneers who had a significant impact on accurate timekeeping— ’Galileo’ and 'Huygens'. These two men challenged the norms to develop, among other things, the pendulum clock which significantly improved the accuracy of timekeeping and triggered a new age in measurement and performance improvement.
Each of these two watches are encased in 316L stainless steel, include sapphire glass, and a luxurious Italian calfskin leather strap. Early backers of the campaign will be able to secure the watches at 50% of retail cost. In addition, backers will also receive an exclusive pair of watch movement inspired stainless steel cufflinks which make a great compliment to the Galileo and Huygens watches.
“We have developed a pricing model that reflects the lean supply chain we have implemented. For our Kickstarter launch we have personally invested skin in the game and asked our suppliers to do the same, which in turn allows us to reward the Kickstarter supporters who help us bring this project alive! Watches of this calibre are not available from anyone else at these prices,” adds Langby.
