-- British fashion designer Paul Smith is bringing his distinctive design eye to the world of darts, teaming up with one of the sport’s most established manufacturers, Harrows Darts.

The collaboration brings together two British brands with more than a century of combined heritage to create a specially designed collection of darts and dartboards, set to be sold through Paul Smith stores across the UK, Europe and the USA.
It marks a meeting of British fashion, design and sport, reimagining one of the game’s most recognisable pieces of equipment at a time when darts is enjoying a cultural resurgence and reaching audiences far beyond its traditional heartlands.
Founded just three years apart, Paul Smith and Harrows Darts have spent more than half a century building British brands in very different industries.
The new collaboration celebrates those two histories, combining Paul Smith’s distinctive design approach with the precision engineering behind Harrows’ performance darts and boards.
The limited-edition collaboration has been built around a shared focus on craftsmanship and attention to detail, bringing together Paul Smith’s unmistakably British design with Harrows’ more than 50 years of experience engineering equipment for the sport.
Celebrating Paul Smith’s iconic aesthetic, the ‘Harrows for Paul Smith’ collection sees the designer’s vibrant signature colours applied across two pieces of professional-grade darts equipment: a limited-edition dartboard and specially designed set of 90% tungsten darts.
The Harrows for Paul Smith darts combine precision engineering with distinctive design. They feature Harrows’ Quick Point System, allowing players to change points in seconds using a specially designed tool, which also doubles as additional point storage.
Made from 90% tungsten, the high-density material allows the darts to carry their weight in a slimmer barrel, helping players group their darts more closely together on the board.
Each barrel is CNC-milled, a precision manufacturing technique that enables more intricate shapes and cuts than traditional machining methods. The result is a sophisticated, tactile finish designed to provide consistent grip, feel and balance, dart after dart and throw after throw, finished with Paul Smith’s signature use of colour.
The limited-edition dartboard has been given the same attention to performance and detail. Made from Madagascan sisal fibres, it features a dense, resilient playing surface designed to recover after each throw, while Paul Smith’s distinctive colour palette gives the traditional board an unmistakable new look.
Ultra-fine hardened wiring maximises the available target area and helps reduce bounce-outs, while Harrows’ built-in TruLevel system allows the board to be precisely levelled once mounted.
Importantly, Harrows for Paul Smith is a genuine co-branded collaboration rather than a traditional licensing agreement, with both British brands working together creatively to develop a collection that combines Paul Smith design with Harrows’ professional-grade darts equipment.
The collaboration will have an international footprint, appearing in Paul Smith flagship stores in the UK as well as Paris, Luxembourg, Amsterdam, Los Angeles and New York.
Managing Director, Damian Ara, from Harrows Darts, said: “At the heart of this collaboration is a shared love of great design, craftsmanship and the details that make something feel special.
“Paul Smith and Harrows have both spent more than 50 years perfecting their craft. We may come from different worlds, but we share a passion for creating beautifully considered products that are made to be used and enjoyed.
“Darts fans are passionate about the game, but increasingly they care about design too. They want something that performs brilliantly at the oche but that they’re equally proud to have on display at home.
“That’s what we’ve created with Paul Smith. His distinctive approach to colour and design runs through the collection, alongside the engineering, innovation and performance people expect from Harrows. It feels like a real celebration of both brands – our shared British roots, our attention to detail and a belief that great design and great performance should go hand in hand.”
The collaboration arrives as the traditional image of darts is also undergoing something of an overhaul. The emergence of a new generation of players, coupled with the so-called “Littler effect”, has helped propel darts further into mainstream entertainment and popular culture, while younger audiences are increasingly picking up the arrows themselves.
A recent study of 2,000 UK adults commissioned by Harrows Darts offers a snapshot of that changing audience. Almost two thirds of 18 to 24-year-olds (64%) and 25 to 34-year-olds (65%) said they had played darts in the past year, compared with just 27% of over-55s.
Almost half (45%) of UK adults surveyed said they had played during the same period, while one in three women (33%) had also picked up the arrows.
Damian Ara, from Harrows Darts, added: “Darts is having a real cultural moment. The people playing it, watching it and engaging with the sport are changing. Today, seeing darts cross over into fashion and design feels like another sign of just how far the sport has travelled.
“This is a true co-branded collaboration, not a paid-for licensing deal, with both brands working together creatively to bring the range to life.”
