Pastor Chris Oyakhilome Declares 2022 to be the ‘Year of the Gathering Clouds’ and Celebrates African Leaders

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome named 2022 the ‘Year of the Gatherings Clouds’ at his New Year’s Eve Service. There, he also rewarded 10 young leaders for their community work at the Future Africa Leaders’ Awards (FALA).

The founder of the Christ Embassy church, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, announced at his New Years’ Eve Service that 2022 is the ‘Year of the Gathering Clouds.’

The pastor held the service on Friday, December 31st in his native Nigeria and broadcasted the event live to his global audience.

“2022 is the ‘Year of the Gathering Clouds.’ The clouds are gathering. This is the year for these gathering clouds to fulfill their purpose. You know, in these you have several gathering clouds. There are gathering clouds of evil, I must say, and the Bible speaks of them. Gathering clouds of unrest. Gathering clouds of wickedness. Gathering clouds of war,” he said at the New Year’s Eve Service.

Pastor Chris Oyakhilome names every year and just parted ways with 2021, the ‘Year of Preparation.’ The theme of the year is supposed to guide his congregation through the upcoming year.

At the New Year’s Eve Service, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome also honored young African leaders at the Future Africa Leaders’ Awards (FALA).

The award show was organized by the Future Africa Leaders’ Foundation (FALF), which is under the wings of the pastor’s non-governmental organization, the Chris Oyakhilome Foundation International (COFI).

The purpose of the event was to acknowledge young African leaders who made a great positive impact on their local communities in 2021.

23-year-old Nervis Nzometiah Tetsop from Cameroon was named the Star Prize Winner and was given a cash prize of $25,000 for his future endeavours.

Nervis Nzometiah Tetsop is a community builder and tech innovator who has impacted about 3000 students through workshops and seminars on career orientation and opportunities in information technology.

Nine other young African leaders were given $10,000 cash prizes by Pastor Chis Oyakhilome for their work in 2021. The nine winners were from South Sudan, Rwanda, Chad, Ghana, Benin, Nigeria, Kenya, Zambia and Togo.
