-- Oak Health Center, a leading provider of comprehensive mental health outpatient care in Southern California, is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Elise Yoshida, to its team of dedicated professionals. As a licensed clinical psychologist, Dr. Yoshida will be offering virtual therapy services to clients aged 18 to 65, providing accessible mental health support across the region.

Dr. Yoshida earned her master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology from the Stanford-PGSP Psy.D. Consortium. She completed her postdoctoral residency at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center Adult Outpatient CBT/DBT program, where she was certified as a therapist and consultant in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) by the Academy of Cognitive Therapy and received intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Her expertise also includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP), and mindfulness-based approaches.

Specializing in evidence-based therapies, Dr. Yoshida is passionate about helping clients address depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment issues. She particularly enjoys working with members of the LGBTQ+ community and young adults exploring identity and navigating life transitions.

“Whether I was someone’s friend, team captain, or resident assistant, I have always valued supporting people I care about,” says Dr. Yoshida. “Being drawn to roles and jobs where there was space for me to mentor and care for others, it just made sense to become a psychologist and learn skills to support people in ways that actually help. Getting to share in a client’s excitement when I see the pride, joy, or surprise on clients’ faces when they have an ‘I did it!’ moment after they use skills from therapy is one of the best parts of being a therapist.”

Dr. Yoshida’s approach is collaborative and culturally responsive, ensuring that therapy is tailored to each individual’s unique experiences and goals. Her commitment to providing compassionate care makes her a valuable addition to Oak Health Center’s virtual therapy team.
