MVR Cash & Carry Is Limiting Loading Bay, Closing Parking Lot for Construction

MVR Cash & Carry will be restricting its parking lot and receiving dock access in order to perform much-needed construction and redesign of its parking lot.

MVR Cash & Carry (, the largest restaurant and convenience store wholesaler in Ontario, is alerting customers to the fact that the store's parking lot will be closed for the next two weeks while important maintenance and redesign are taking place. This construction work will also significantly impact the availability of the receiving docks.

"It is going to be an inconvenience, but it's an unavoidable one," admits Mike Commisso, co-owner and operator of MVR Cash & Carry. "The entire parking lot is being dug up as part of the construction. The whole surface is going to be made level to prevent accidents from free-rolling shopping carts, buggy corrals will be built, and the whole sewer will be raised since it is currently sinking."

The parking lot will be worked on in stages. This week, the front entrance on Weston Road is being repaved so all customers will need to use the side lots and the Kenhar Drive entrance and exit. During the week of July 18, the northeast side of the store will be worked on so the Weston Road entrance will be the one in use.

"In order to help prevent availability from becoming an issue, MVR employees will be on hand to help direct traffic and aid customers in loading their cars so that vehicles can move in and out more fluidly," explains Commisso.

One of the other significant changes the construction will be bringing is that the receiving docks will have restricted access. In order to keep parking spots available for customers, MVR's receiving docks will only be open from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

"While the next two weeks may be hectic, the end result will be better for everyone involved," assures Commisso. "MVR is currently doing everything they can to make the transition as easy on customers as possible."
