-- Munger English Sports Management (MESM) announced that it has represented more than 100 athletes during its first 12 years of operation, marking a milestone in the firm’s continued commitment to long-term player development and professional baseball representation.

Founded by Nick English, MESM operates as a boutique baseball agency focused on building lasting relationships with athletes and their families. Rather than pursuing scale, the firm has maintained an approach centered on individualized guidance, career planning, and ongoing support throughout a player’s professional journey.
English is the grandson of Charlie Munger, the longtime business partner of Warren Buffett and a key architect of Berkshire Hathaway’s success. English has often credited his grandfather’s emphasis on patience, independent thinking, and strong character as influences on his approach to business and athlete representation.
Several athletes represented by the agency have advanced to Major League Baseball. Clients have included Heliot Ramos, Michael Harris II, Colt Keith, Chandler Simpson, Wilson Rodriguez, Jose Leclerc, and Cam Collier.
The firm’s representatives work closely with players through career decisions, financial planning, and the challenges associated with professional baseball’s development path. Agency leadership maintains that strong relationships and consistent guidance help athletes navigate both opportunities and uncertainties throughout their careers.
“My grandfather believed that the most important decisions in life require patience, independent thinking, and strong character. Those ideas guide how I treat the players and families who trust my agency with their careers,” said English.
MESM has negotiated more than $100 million in player salaries during its history. Among the firm’s notable accomplishments was a contract extension for pitcher José Leclerc that established a record for a right-handed reliever with two years of service time.
Rapid changes in prospect rankings and public attention continue to influence professional baseball. MESM encourages athletes to focus on discipline, steady development, and character rather than short-term recognition. Firm leadership believes long-term success is built through preparation, responsibility, and sound decision-making.
“Players deserve someone who stands beside them through every stage. This business is about trust. Families are trusting you with their child’s future,” English said.
The milestone reflects more than a decade of athlete representation and reinforces the firm’s continued emphasis on loyalty, honesty, and long-term career stewardship for professional baseball players.
