Momtech Inc., a Charlotte-based startup dedicated to improving the lives of babies and those who feed them, proudly announces the launch of its latest innovation, the “babypace ® 2” bottle nipple. This revamped product, building on the success of the original babypace ® bottle nipple, aims to strengthen and support breastfeeding while addressing common challenges like nipple preference and bottle refusal.
“We’ve completely redesigned the bottle nipple,” said Hal Eason, CEO of Momtech Inc. “The new shape enables babies to latch better, allowing the entire mouth to work with the bottle in the same way it does during nursing. This improvement makes it a game-changer in strengthening and preserving a healthy breastfeeding relationship.”
About the mōmi babypace ® 2
Over the past year and a half, Momtech has collaborated closely with lactation consultants and infant feeding experts to reimagine the original babypace ® bottle nipple. The new design maintains the signature soft, solid tip that mimics natural breastfeeding but now offers a more effective latching experience. This enables babies to transition seamlessly between breast and bottle feeding without altering their feeding mechanics.
“We’re grateful to the lactation support professionals throughout the country who contributed their time and insights in developing the new design,” said Eason. “Through their contribution we were able to develop a product that’s better for babies and promotes more sustainable feeding practices.”
The babypace ® 2 supports what Momtech calls the “Four Pillars of Breastfeeding”: establishing breastfeeding by teaching natural oral mechanics; restoring breastfeeding for babies who may have lost interest; strengthening oral function through natural tongue and jaw movements; and preserving a breastfeeding relationship by not allowing the baby to develop alternate oral mechanics to nursing.
Growth and Future Plans
The launch follows a successful initial release, where the original product reached $100,000 in monthly sales within its first eight months. This new release is part of a broader strategy that includes developing silicone sleeves, cup-holder-compatible bottles, larger bottle sizes, bottle warmers, pacifiers, and an advanced breast pump.
