Ever since then the Menne family has been passionate about harvesting and delivering the best quality of Alfalfa hay, Grass-alfalfa mix, Timothy hay, Oat hay, Straw, and high quality grain hay blend of oat/ wheat/ barley (Tri – Mix) to the northwestern territory. Bulk orders are now being accepted from Feed Supply Stores throughout Northern California to assure these stores are able to supply these high quality products to their customers.
Part of the reason that the hay harvested by Menne Ranch Hay Inc. attains such a high quality is due to being grown in an intermountain area. The cooler mountain climate slows the growth of alfalfa which results in a higher leaf stem ratio. Since 1971, owner Don Menne, his wife Karen and sons, Mike, Tom and Dan have been operating this small hay ranch. The first hay truck was purchased in 1978 and ever since then, high quality hay has been delivered. Today there is more than 2000 acres of hay being harvested, but the small family owned ranch integrity is still a cornerstone of the business. Don has since retired and Tom and Dan and seven grandchildren stay busy farming the area’s best quality hay.
