IntelliTec College has announced enrollment is now open for a new Medical Assisting program at their Albuquerque, New Mexico campus. The next start date for Medical Assisting will be November 16th, 2020.
As a career training college, IntelliTec’s goal is to provide students with the training programs they need for today’s world. Fred Crum, Campus Director of IntelliTec Albuquerque, is excited about the addition of this program, stating, “It is imperative that we offer programs that meet the needs of our community. The Medical Assisting program at IntelliTec Albuquerque will develop in students much-needed skills for success in this important field and equip students for the career needs of the future.”
IntelliTec College’s decision to bring this popular program to Albuquerque reflects the college’s mission to provide programs that train students for the jobs that are in high demand in their communities. IntelliTec’s Medical Assisting program was designed to help meet the need for clinical and administrative medical professionals in today’s healthcare world. At this time, healthcare professionals are more in demand than ever before, and medical assistants are critical to the functioning of our healthcare system.
Medical assistants are essential healthcare workers who directly influence the quality and delivery of vital healthcare services. The Medical Assistant program at IntelliTec teaches students to perform laboratory procedures, understand the anatomy and physiology of the human body, and assist physicians in medical office examinations. IntelliTec students learn to perform administrative duties such as appointment scheduling, insurance, and medical practice management.
The Medical Assisting program at IntelliTec is designed to be achievable in as few as 12 months. Upon completing the program, students are prepared to sit for the AMT Registered Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist examinations for certification. Nationally-recognized industry certifications such as these demonstrate to potential employers the job candidate’s skill and knowledge level. Graduates of the Medical Assisting program are prepared to enter the workforce immediately and begin work in hospitals, physicians’ offices, medical clinics, nursing care facilities, and other healthcare settings.
