Maui Tide, the MASL team for the 2022 season, is kicking off its practice schedule for the coming year. Hart Cunningham is leading the team as both assistant coach and striker. —
The new Maui Tide soccer team is joining the Major Arena Soccer League for the 2022 season for the first time. Hart Cunningham has created the team and will be leading them in the league, providing representation for Maui in professional indoor soccer. Hart has extensive experience in the sport, playing soccer in Europe on the US under 14s team and holding the majority of high school records at Buckley High School - Sherman Oaks. As an adult, he has played professionally in the MASL for multiple years but retired in his mid-30s to pursue a goal of spreading climate change awareness.
As part of this commitment, he ran a POTUS Hart20202 campaign in Cambridge, MA on the Harvard University campus with 18 Harvard interns and leaders. Harvard's recent commitment to divest of fossil fuels has been stated internally to be related to Hart2020 political efforts of climate awareness while campaigning at Cambridge for 8 months in 2018-2019. Hart Cunningham was also part of the climate protests at Harvard in 2000, while his fiance graduated before law school.
The new Maui MASL team continues this tradition and commitment to the environment. Maui Tide donates time and resources to ocean cleanup, following in the footsteps of Cunningham, who has planted 47 million trees via aerial pods across central America over the last 19 years, utilizing his entrepreneurial success to offset carbon, and creating life.
