-- Lately, Manaslu Trek is one in the list of increasing number of tourists in Nepal each season. A large number of tourists are drowning in Manaslu every year. It is a remote and off-the-beaten-path compared to the other well-known teahouse treks in Nepal. Manaslu trek gained popularity since tea houses were built here in 2010. Prior to that, the hikers had to camp or an organised trek to visit this region.
The region was opened for tourist in 1995. When the government officially announced, open for hiking to the region trekkers this region this region only received 344 tourists in 1995. Due to the far proximity to the capital and civil war in the country, there was not a lot of tourist in between 1995 to 2006. A large number of tourists used to hike the Annapurna Circuit classical trail between this time. When the road construction started in 2005 as a part of the national development plan in Nepal, the classical trail to Annapurna circuit trail was completely destroyed without opening an alternative route for the hiker.
