Liberty Access Technologies’ EV charging system incorporates the convenience and security offered by HID global proximity access card systems used by millions of global users.

-- Liberty Access Technologies (Liberty) of Santa Barbara, California announces that they are now offering electric vehicle charging systems along with the convenience and security offered by the world-class HID global proximity access card systems.

Chris Outwater, CEO of Liberty explained that “Competing EV charging systems with secure access control often requires the EV driver to obtain and use a proprietary RFID key fob or card which can be inconvenient.”

By incorporating the highly popular HID card/reader system into EV charging, Liberty allows employees and tenants to use their existing building access proximity cards and fobs to also securely access EV charging on the Liberty Hydra™ system. See how it works here.

Most recently, Liberty has installed two HID access control systems at Cushman & Wakefield corporate offices located in Tampa, Florida. Liberty's unique HID enhanced Liberty Hydra feature has been said to be a very attractive feature for Cushman & Wakefield

According to Cushman & Wakefield, they chose the the combined Liberty and HID access solution because it allowed them to use the same “prox” cards and smartphones NFC features that they have been using for years at their offices.

Both Hydras systems at Cushman & Wakefield incorporates an HID keypad combination access control device, which allows employees to authenticate their charge sessions by using their existing HID prox card.

On the other hand, under the direction of a Los Angeles municipal agency, Liberty has recently supplied 3 HID integrated keypads to the EV charging system at UCLA Harbor Medical Center, as well as completing an installation at the County Fire Department.
