The Den, — LaVernia restaurant and CEO, H L McBee are pleased to announce that they are in full operation following their January 2016 opening. The eating place is located in scenic LaVernia, Texas with a newly constructed building, patio, bandstand and children's play area. The restaurant focuses on serving good food for enjoyment with family and friends. The Den is centered around a massive oak tree which overlooks the patio.
The restaurant includes an outdoor seating area of seven thousand square feet. There is an indoor/outdoor bar area. Patrons can enjoy live music several days each week and there are dozens of flat screen televisions for game night and other events. There is room for a group of friends to make an evening of food, music, and social interaction.
Patrons of the restaurant may eat on the patio or inside the restaurant. The menu includes classic American food, prepared by Chefs Mike and Rick. Local bands perform for diners, while the guests partake of the menu of burgers, salads, and seafood. There are a number of menu items which are unique. Guests of the restaurant can try Rattlesnake Bites, Black and Blue Burger, Not So Cibolo PoBoy or Donkey Legs.
The menu choices are extensive, but patrons are particularly attracted to the breakfast omelets and pancakes. The burgers are incredible and people come from miles around to try the chicken fried steak. The menus incorporate some of the best crawfish options ever.
The McBee Family has been a fixture in the LaVernia community since the 1800s, nearly 175 years of community influence. The idea of The Den arose from a desire to give back to the community. It required several years of planning and they overcame many obstacles in order to complete the restaurant. They are currently one of the largest local employers in the area and employ more than sixty local employees.
