On U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 Best Colleges ranking, Keiser University earned the No. 11 spot on the Top Performers in Social Mobility subcategory, up from No. 34 in 2020. The ranking measures how well schools enroll and graduate students who received federal Pell Grants. This is only the second year U.S. News has considered social mobility as a subgroup. Keiser was the top-rated Florida university in social mobility.
“We are very pleased to again earn such high marks in social mobility,” said Dr. Arthur Keiser, Chancellor of Keiser University. “We recognize the importance of providing quality education to a diverse population of students and are pleased to include this goal in our commitment to student success.”
In addition to its spot on the social mobility ranking, Keiser earned a top 300 rating among all schools in the National Universities category. This is only the second year Keiser has been listed in the National University category, which includes schools that are mostly research-oriented and offer a full range of undergraduate and graduate majors, plus doctoral programs. Keiser University moved from the Regional Universities grouping in 2020, as a result of its Carnegie Classification as a Doctoral/Professional University.
The 2021 US News & World Report rankings provide data on more than 1,900 colleges, with rankings for nearly 1,400 institutions. U.S. News considers 17 metrics when ranking schools and places the largest emphasis on a college's ability to retain and graduate its students. Other factors include class size, undergraduate academic reputation, and how much a school spends per student on instruction and other related educational expenses.
In addition to the U.S. News rankings, Keiser University fared well on Niche’s 2021 Best College in America rankings, which were released in August. Keiser was ranked No. 13 overall in Florida among all institutions of higher learning, including schools in the State University System and the Florida College System.
“At Keiser University, we continue to develop our “student first” philosophy and build upon our successes,” said Dr. Arthur Keiser. “These rankings are evidence of our school’s commitment to providing our students with an education that leads to career success.”
Keiser University earned the No. 9 overall spot in the country for Best Online Colleges, which ranks schools based on their ability to deliver remote education to students. The placement was the best among all colleges and universities in Florida. Keiser also scored well as the No. 19 Best Hispanic-Serving Institution in the country, according to Niche. The category ranked the top 358 colleges and universities with membership in the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU).
Niche’s Best Colleges rankings are based on rigorous analysis of academic, admissions, financial, and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education, along with millions of reviews from students and alumni. The ranking compares more than 1,600 top colleges and universities in the U.S.
