The award celebrates the collective efforts of the project's design team, which includes Buxton Kubik Dodd Design Collective, Miller Engineering, OWN Engineering, Touché Design Company, James River Church, and Ross Construction Group. These teams delivered an outstanding facility tailored to meet the needs of James River Church's youth ministry while reflecting modern architectural creativity and functionality.
The 26,000-square-foot Youth Building Addition in Ozark, Missouri, has been thoughtfully designed to create a vibrant and welcoming environment for teenagers to learn, connect, and socialize. The facility’s open-concept layout incorporates unique features, including glass garage doors that effortlessly blend indoor and outdoor spaces, a covered outdoor plaza, and a basketball court. A baptismal pool is uniquely integrated beneath the auditorium stage, which highlights the innovative approach to versatility and allows the space to seamlessly transition between worship services and events.
The project’s success stemmed from a strong commitment to collaboration. Regular design meetings created a space where all contributors could share their ideas, fostering a culture of appreciation, teamwork, and innovative thinking.
“Meeting expectations throughout this project has been both a joy and a blessing. The outcome has been truly remarkable,” shared Pastor David Lindell of James River Church.
