Increasing patient load for growing mind/body therapy practice creates need for additional dance/movement therapy practitioners.

-- InTouch & Motion, the renowned therapy practice that offers healing through movement, announced today that it has hired a new therapist, Julie Brannen, LPC, R-DMT, MPA. The hire was prompted by strong growth in the practice, which is taking on new clients.

“We are very excited to have Julie join our team,” said Amanda Mitchell, LCPC, BC-DMT, founder of InTouch & Motion. “She brings a great deal of experience and talent to this role, helping our clients improve their health and mental well-being through movement, dance, and psychotherapy.”

Describing itself as “Healing Arts and Creative Therapies for Your Mind, Body, and Spirit,” InTouch & Motion has built a practice based on the idea that the mind and body are interwoven. Their therapeutic regimen flows from a foundation principle that a patient cannot understand one without the other. “Our life experiences are ingrained in our brain's pathways and can impact our future through thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations,” Mitchell added. “Our thoughts then effect how we feel and vice versa.”

The practice focuses on Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT), a psychotherapeutic application of dance and movement to support emotional, intellectual, developmental and mental health. DMT works by correlating movement, body awareness, thoughts, and emotions to have a holistic approach and understanding of wellbeing. The therapist uses movement, mindfulness, and body awareness techniques to help the client achieve emotional, cognitive, physical and social integration. Benefits include mood management, stress reduction, greater sense of physical and emotional wellbeing, and more.

InTouch & Motion offers Dance/Movement Therapy, Movement Pattern Analysis, Movement Coaching and Past-Life Regression Therapy. Clients work with the practice to relieve symptoms of trauma, anxiety, ADHD, and relationship concerns as well to adjust to significant life changes. Treatments may involve mind-body-spirit techniques such as mindfulness, guided imagery, breathing, gentle organic movement, and creative arts expression.
