High School Student Bagged the Physics Project Award

Bukit Timah, Singapore - It was a happy day for high schooler Tammy Go as he received the news about him winning 2nd place in the Annual Physics Project Award. According to a press release by Alibaba Printing, the 14-year old student who is currently enrolled for the A Level physics tuition at Singapore Physics Tuition Centre, has won the prestigious international award.

The Physics project that this junior high school student submitted is a laser pointer that measures sugar content in liquids. The competition was held in Osaka, Japan and hosted by Japan’s leading Physics tuition centre, Sensei Michio. Over 60 students from all over the world and with different age range and grade joined the brain-testing but exciting competition. Singapore’s delegates are two junior high school students from a tuition centre Bukit Timah, and a senior high school from a multinational school in Orchard Road. The grand champion is from Kuwait, a junior high school student named Miriam Hanul, who built an X-ray machine. The third placer is Anna Laurenti from Manila, Philippines, who showcased Faraday’s Law using high-speed magnets.

The winners received cash prizes and scholarship grants from highly acclaimed science universities in the United States and at the same time they were offered scholarships as well in their own countries’ best universities. According to Tammy’s instructor from his physics tuition Singapore centre, “He is enthusiastic about Physics but his parents think that he is still very young to decide whether to go to the U.S. to study or just pursue his diploma here. We’ll see in two years. The child is very smart and studious and he once told me that he would love to study abroad, but for now, he'll stay here in Singapore and finish high school here.” More information about the yearly Physics event can be found in https://physicstuitionsg.com/.
