-- With 18 years of experience now under their belt, Greenaway Residential Estate Agents have learned a lot. From the handshake agreement that sealed their office premises in 2000 to the expansion of the company when it opened a new branch in East Grinstead, there have been highs and lows.
If anything is to define this particular estate agent, it is the tenacity of the team to make the business work. Darren Greenaway is no stranger to hard work and he himself decorated the first office the company held. In fact, as guests started to arrive to the launch party, hosted in the office on a damp Friday evening in September 2000, he was still covered in paint, hoping that the new fascia sign would, by some miracle, finally turn up.
In a crowded market which has changed radically in the last few years with the introduction of sites that assist people in selling their property themselves, Greenaway Residential Estate Agents has retained the same cornerstones of ‘worry about what the customer wants’, ‘there are only two things that sells property: marketing and price’ and ‘to get the best price for the client they must be given the best marketing’.
With their friendly customer service and ability to judge the current market (as well as the hope and dreams of their clients), Greenaway Residential Estate Agents have remained at the top of their game. Friends and family have supported the business unwaveringly, but its true success comes down to the clients who consistently recommend the business to their own networks.
The business may have started without a single property in the window but it has now grown to list over 70 properties over just two offices with 10 staff working hard to keep up with demand. The three original partners may have split but Darren and his team are as determined as ever to prove that estate agents can move with the times without losing the essence that makes their particular company great.
Looking back at the highlights of the business’ childhood just shows how good businesses can thrive. From the first board erected outside the first instruction given to the estate agents to the fifteen foot high sign going up outside their first development of flats to buying the Southend, Croydon office for just £1, it is incredible to see just how far Darren and his team have come.
