Global Travel Merchants to Gather In Chengdu

144-hour transit visa exemption policy is coming soon

On November 29th, Chengdu Tourism Administration will launch an event for inviting the global travel merchants to gather in Chengdu to help everyone know more about the city. In addition to that, a 144-hour transit visa-free policy is coming soon. The event will demonstrate how Chengdu's tourism industry going global rapidly.

As per the official website of the National Immigration Administration, a 144-hour transit visa exemption policy has already been approved by the State Council, and it will be implemented with effect from January 1, 2019 in five cities, including Xiamen, Qingdao, Wuhan, Chengdu and Kunming. As one of them, Chengdu has opened 110 international routes to and fro Paris, New York, London, Los Angeles, Frankfurt, Madrid, Tokyo, St. Petersburg, and many more, fully covering five continents up to now.

Biodiversity is a generous gift from nature to Chengdu. 80% of the world natural heritage giant pandas live in Sichuan, and Chengdu is even known as the capital of pandas both at home and abroad. At this event, Chengdu Municipal Tourism Administration jointly launched the global challenge competition titled "Chengdu Tourism, Global Recruitment of Panda Babysitter" with TikTok, a mobile video sharing app developed by Beijing Byte Dance Technology Co.Ltd. As a part of the overseas communication activities of Chengdu tourism department, it aims to promote the beauty of Chengdu tourism at the global stage with the most unique vision through the latest and most effective communication platform.
