-- Atlanta Father Turns Unimaginable Loss Into a Movement to Protect the Next Generation
Futures Without Fear, a newly formed nonprofit based in Atlanta, has officially announced the launch of its inaugural community initiative, the Summer Kickoff Rally, to take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Adair Park 1. The event marks the organization’s first major public effort to raise awareness, inspire healing, and prevent youth gun violence in the city.
Founded by Kenn Collier Sr. after the tragic loss of his 17-year-old son, Futures Without Fear provides mentorship, grief counseling, youth skill-building, and emergency family support to communities affected by gun violence. The organization is committed to breaking generational cycles of trauma and helping young people create safer, purpose-driven futures.
“My son didn’t just become a victim. He was a voice, a light, and a leader in the making,” said Collier. “Futures Without Fear was born from our pain, but it exists to protect others from experiencing the same kind of loss. His legacy is the spark that keeps this mission alive.”
The Summer Kickoff Rally is designed to be a day of empowerment, unity, and remembrance. Activities will include:
A youth flag football game
Live music and food
A tribute wall honoring lives lost to gun violence
Resource booths and vendors providing mental health, educational, and family support services
The event is free to the public and open to families, youth, educators, mentors, and community leaders. Sponsorship and media partnership opportunities are still available.
