DOT SAP Evaluations explained
A lot of people presume that the Return to Duty process is extremely difficult to complete, however, it is usually easier than most people believe. Our process begins with a substance abuse assessment performed by a qualified DOT Substance Abuse Provider (SAP).
Depending on the information that is obtained during that initial assessment, the SAP Counselor will make recommendations relating to the next steps required to progress. These recommendations might include education or treatment on an inpatient or outpatient basis. Once these recommendations made by your SAP have been completed, the next step is a follow-up appointment.
After these recommendations have been completed, if they have been successfully followed, the DOT SAP will notify your employer that the steps for DOT SAP have been completed and that you are fit to return to work.
