For many keen cyclists, finding accommodation in a town or village that is happy to also take in a cycle can be tough. Many just aren’t geared up for the cyclist, even though there has been a massive push lately to get more people riding around the country rather than taking the car. —
However, Flornorvan bed and breakfast based in Kinver near Stourbridge has begun offering secure cycle storage and welcomes anyone wanting to take in the countryside to bring their bike. In fact, bring the family along and they can all enjoy a fantastic cycling holiday and sleep well knowing their bikes are being looked after while they take an well earned rest.
John Hawkins, owner of Flornorvan bed and breakfast said: “There are many cycle routes around the village of varying difficulty which are suited to all types of cyclist. There is also a network of canal towpaths ideal for the more casual cyclist but we found many people didn’t bring their bikes thinking there would be nowhere to store them safely. We now actively encourage people to bring them and enjoy everything the countryside has to offer.”
And when the ride is over, relax in the en-suite rooms, relax with the tea and coffee making facilities or sooth those muscles with a hot water bottle. Or even take a five minute stroll into the village itself and have a meal at one of the many restaurants from Indian through to fine Italian cuisine.
Even rainy days don’t need to stop the keen biker. Clothes drying facilities are also available so wet weather gear won’t have to be stored away in a damp state for the journey home.
Whatever the weather, riding a bike is a healthy and environmentally friendly method of getting about and Flornorvan have now made it possible for people to relax and enjoy cycling even when on holiday.
