-- Following the cancellation of the Hungarian Baja, however, the team continued testing in Hungary, after which Adam Lacko and the Buggyra support team headed to his hometown of Frenštát pod Radhoštěm for Frendly Fest.

The Hungarian Baja was due to take place from 12 to 15 August in the vicinity of Várpalota. The programme included testing, a Friday prologue and the first special stage, with the bulk of the competitive kilometres to follow on Saturday. Buggyra ZM Racing arrived in Hungary with two race cars for Adam Lacko and Aliyyah Koloc.
In the end, however, the same scenario unfolded as three weeks earlier in Spain, where the Baja Aragón had been cancelled due to a high risk of wildfires. This time, too, after completing all their preparations, the team was at least able to make use of the test routes.
“It turned out exactly the same as three weeks ago in Spain. We brought the whole team here and everyone was fully prepared. But after testing, we were told the event had been cancelled. We’d already seen plenty of smoke, fires and firefighters during the day,” said Adam Lacko, describing the situation.
One positive was the work carried out on both cars. “The cars ran well and we were satisfied. This time, everything went really well with Aliyyah too. It’s obviously a shame we didn’t get to race, but we moved to another test location, quite a long way from the fires, and carried on with our work,” added Lacko.
Aliyyah Koloc assessed the situation in a similar vein. “It’s a huge disappointment because the rally was cancelled again due to the fires. But we carried on testing. I’ve got a good feeling about the car and I think we’ve made some good changes. We’d obviously have been able to evaluate them better under rally conditions, but now we have to prepare for the next round in Poland,” she said.
Adam Lacko used the unexpectedly free weekend to return to the Czech Republic. Buggyra arrived at Frendly Fest in Frenštát pod Radhoštěm with both race cars and a large support team. Frendly Fest once again offered a day full of adrenaline, motorsport, entertainment and inspiring personalities.
“Our entire racing team and both cars are here. When the event was cancelled, we came to enjoy a great Saturday at Frendly Fest. There are loads of guests here, the atmosphere is great and we’re really enjoying ourselves,” concluded Lacko.
