-- Author Manuel Martinez will bring his graphic novel “The Cycles of History” to Florida Supercon 2026, marking a major public step in a writing career that has developed across more than two decades. From July 10 through July 12 at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Martinez will introduce readers to a body of work shaped by numerology, historical cycles and long-form questions about memory, power and moral accountability.

Martinez has spent years building a catalog that includes “The Damned Comedy: A Novel,” “22: The War of the Gods,” “11: The Secret Code” and “Nostradamus: My First Novel.” Across that work, he has returned consistently to the same central ideas, using fiction, symbolism and historical interpretation to explore recurring patterns in human events. The Cycles of History continues that line of inquiry in graphic novel form and serves as a gateway to his broader intellectual project.
“I keep writing because after more than forty years studying the cycles of money, I have come to see they are also moral cycles, and that reading is not something you owe to yourself,” Martinez said. “You owe it to the reader who does not yet know that 2026 has already begun the cycle of transformation of the world as we know it today.”
In “The Cycles of History,” Martinez follows a man named Sebastian, who is summoned back from death and tasked with learning how to read history before history reads him. The book uses prophecy, covenantal structure and numerical symbolism to examine how patterns of empire, crisis and memory repeat across time. The project also lays the groundwork for “History as Covenant,” a larger work that expands those ideas into a broader argument about historical recurrence and moral responsibility.
“Florida SuperCon matters because it is the one place where the same audience that consumes graphic novels, biblical prophecy, conspiracy, and pop culture is gathered in a single hall, the natural reader of the Codex without knowing it yet,” Martinez said. “And because a book like yours is not sold in bookstores. It is sold face to face, when someone stops at the table, looks at the numbers 47 and 74, and asks, ‘What is this?’”
“The Cycles of History” is illustrated by Sajid Black, a Panama-based artist who hand-draws the work. Together, Martinez and Black present a graphic novel built to invite curiosity while engaging deeper questions about history, symbolism and the structure of cultural memory.
