New Premium Handcrafted Double-Smoked Bacon Products Available At AZ & CO Delis

December 24, 2024

The recent announcement from Bart's Bacon comes just ahead of National Bacon Day, which is observed on December 30 each year. Bacon fans in Colorado and Arizona can celebrate with a taste of products made following the family’s 70-year-old recipe, now sold in select Albertson's and Safeway deli locations across the region. Interested parties can learn more at https://bartsbacon.com More than 275 million Americans eat bacon each year, and each person eats roughly 18 pounds of it, explains the company. The Bart's Bacon story spans several generations of meat loving artisans, creating a legacy that continues into the present. Bart's grandfather created the recipe while working on their family farm in the late 1940s. As a dedicated butcher, he earned a following for using premium pork cuts to make his bacon and his practice of brining the cuts in huge stone crocks. As a child, Bart loved helping his grandfather on the farm. The pair would rise at dawn to blend the family’s brine recipe, and then start the pork bellies soaking. Later, they would double-smoke the bellies using real wood; when the smoking was all done, they prepared and wrapped the bacon together while listening to football games on the radio. In the mid-1970s, Bart’s grandfather began distributing his bacon to family and friends who lived nearby, and it didn’t take long for locals to start asking for Bart’s Bacon by name. Bart eventually went on to pursue a degree in animal science, but he came back to deepen his experience in the meat industry. Bart’s grandfather died in 2012, but the company has preserved his original recipe as a family legacy. “We have expanded our reach, but we have never lost sight of what makes our bacon truly special: the brine, the careful dwell time, the use of real wood, the double smoking process, and our unwavering commitment to doing things the right way,” a company official said. While the recipe remains the same, innovations and health standards have been incorporated into the bacon-making process. In alignment with the company's ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards for their meat products, their packaging plants have regular inspections from the United States Department of Agriculture, and a third-party audit team monitors temperature control digitally.
