-- Stonewall, LA - According to the Equine Business Association, “the equine industry is one of the biggest industries that is hidden in plain sight.” The annual economic impact of the equine industry is $300 billion dollars and creates 1.6 million full-time jobs globally.
Even in northwest Louisiana the impact is seen. There are over 5 horse farms that provide lessons and training within a 20-mile radius of the Shreveport/Bossier area to clientele ranging in age from 5 to 70.
Head trainer at Hidden Acres Equestrian Center, Ashley Maxwell, knows all about the equestrian world in northwest Louisiana. A rider for 20+ years, Ashley and her trainers teach hunter/jumper and dressage to their students in a relaxed, friendly environment on their 345-acre riding facility. With two arenas and miles of tree lined trails, Hidden Acres Equestrian Center is sure to meet the needs of any rider.
“Our goal is to offer a relaxed, friendly environment where each client is treated with respect and professionalism,” says Maxwell. “We strive to provide a fun and positive experience that both the student and their family can enjoy. It’s a very family friendly atmosphere.”
From horseback riding lessons to full boarding services for horses, Hidden Acres Equestrian Center has a host of services to offer equestrians of any age and riding ability. One of their most popular events are their Summer Camps. Campers come for 3 days from 8:00 a.m. to Noon and learn horse safety, grooming, tacking up and of course riding. After riding, campers untack their horses and learn how to manage daily and basic medical horse care. Camps are also offered at Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Hidden Acres Equestrian Center students compete on the local North Louisiana Equestrian Association circuit and at United States Equestrian Federation rated shows. Hidden Acres Equestrian Center has both High School and Middle School Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) teams competing in Zone 7.
