-- EDOBIO, known for their artfully packaged skincare line inspired by the ukiyo-e genre of Japanese art from the 17th century, announced their herbal tea line contains an ingredient, blueberry leaf (Kunisato No. 35), that is not only known to suppress the viruses that cause T-cell leukemia and hepatitis C in adults, but also has a strong antiviral efficacy against COVID-19. This information was studied by Professor Kazuhiro Morishita, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Miyazaki located in Japan. The study investigated the effects of blueberry leaf and stem extract on the new coronavirus it proved consumption of these natural herbs to be an effective therapeutic drug to combat the virus. Ten samples of sonicated components extracted from the stems and leaves were examined and were proven to suppress infectivity by 99.9% or more.

On the news of the healing properties of the herb, EDOBIO’s CEO Kenichi Arakawa said, “We were thrilled to hear the news of the benefits that blueberry leaf, an ingredient prominently featured in our herbal teas, has against COVID-19. We pride ourselves on the quality of our ingredients and have worked with naturopaths to formulate our blended herbal teas with the goal of providing health and beauty from the inside, simply by drinking a cup of tea.” The herbal tea line was introduced to EDOBIO’s Inner Beauty product line in February of 2020.

The herbal tea line consists of two blends, Green Tea Slim and the Relax Flow, both masterfully crafted with more than nine high quality herbs from Italy and Japan. However, the ingredient that sets these teas apart is the Japanese Blueberry Leaf (Kunisato No. 35), which is grown in the Miyazaki Prefecture. The blueberry leaf is high in proanthocyanidin, which is an elite class of polyphenols. Polyphenols are packed with antioxidants that can help improve digestion issues and weight management. Along with the above benefits of the blueberry leaf, the teas feature herbs that are known for detoxification, relaxation and anti-aging properties that compliment EDOBIO’s growing lifestyle brand.
