EarnTheNecklace.com, a revealing and engaging web site with articles written by women who exchange their stories and confessions about being in a relationship with a much older man, is releasing its expert opinion on a recent study showing that post-sex behavior correlates strongly with both sexual and relationship satisfaction.
“It is a commonly accepted idea that younger women prefer men who are older, and older men prefer to be with younger women. There is also a commonly held belief, mostly among men, that the more adventurous they are in bed and the longer they last, the better their sex life and relationship are,” says Riya Beaumont, EarnTheNecklace.com’s content editor. “However, recent research shows that this might not be the case.”
According to new research from the University of Toronto Mississauga in Ontario, Canada, couples who spend more time being affectionate after sex feel more satisfied with their sex lives and their relationship with their partner. The two-part study gathered data from an online survey of 335 men and women and a 21-day survey of 101 couples. (Source: Muise, A., et al., “Post Sex Affectionate Exchanges Promote Sexual and Relationship Satisfaction,” University of Toronto Psychology web site, April 30, 2014; http://www.sprgtoronto.org/wp-content/uploads/Muise-Giang-Impett-2014-ASB.pdf.)
The results of the online survey showed that participants engaged in affectionate behavior for an average of 15 minutes after sex. In the second study, couples were asked to cuddle for longer than the 15-minute average. Interestingly, frequency and duration of sex and foreplay was not a big predictor of relationship satisfaction; instead, those who cuddled, caressed, kissed, and spooned after sex reported an increase in both relationship and sexual satisfaction.
The relationship experts at EarnTheNecklace.com understand that when it comes to sex, too many couples are orgasm-centric and miss out on the intimacy of foreplay, sex, and post-coital affection. Instead of paying attention to the so-called “goal” of sex, the orgasm, the relationship experts at EarnTheNecklace.com recommend paying attention to one’s partner before, during, and after sex.
“In fact, the feel-good hormones released during sex can last longer if the couple snuggles, kisses, or spoons, even for just a few minutes after having intercourse,” Beaumont concludes. “If someone wants to improve the overall satisfaction of their relationship, they should pay attention to their partner after sex.”
