— Dr. Summit Shah MD is proud to announce the winner of his annual scholarship.
This year’s $1,000 winner is Madilyn Colley, a recent high school graduate from Springfield, Oregon. She plans to attend Northern Arizona University in the fall and will pursue a degree in Journalism and Political Science. She hopes to use her degree to help her community to realize its full potential by improving education, workforce, and living standards.
Dr. Shah awards one scholarship annually to help students to lower their tuition expenses while furthering their education at an institution of higher learning. The award is open to students of any area of study who are enrolled in or accepted into a college, university, trade school, or design school.
Applicants were required to submit a brief essay as part of the application. The essay required applicants to discuss what professional goals they hoped to achieve in the next five years.
For Madilyn’s part, she is a survivor of childhood leukemia and has participated in the Relay for Life for the past 11 years. Her friends and family team has raised over $25,000 since 2007, and she plans to use her degree in journalism and political science to promote this noble cause.
Dr. Shah is the founder of Premier Allergy in Columbus, Ohio. He is also a clinical researcher and professor at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
Students can apply online through July 1, 2020 for next year’s scholarship.
