-- Specialist plastic surgeon Dr Mahyar Amjadi has announced plans to expand his current practice locations, supporting broader access to plastic surgery, reconstructive procedures, and skin cancer care in Australia.
The planned expansion reflects the continued development of a practice built around coordinated patient care. Dr Amjadi and his clinical team provide support throughout diagnosis, treatment planning, surgery, and postoperative care, working with other medical specialists when a patient's circumstances require a broader approach.

Additional information about future practice locations and consultation availability will be released as expansion plans progress. Existing services will continue while the practice evaluates opportunities to make consultations and procedures more accessible across its areas of operation.
Expanding a Coordinated Model of Care
The expansion is intended to extend a care model that considers the complete surgical experience rather than focusing only on the procedure itself. Patients receive information about the recommended treatment, available options, expected recovery, and appropriate follow up arrangements before making decisions about their care.
Dr Amjadi's practice provides services across skin cancer surgery, reconstructive procedures, facial surgery, breast surgery, hand surgery, and other areas of general plastic surgery. Each treatment plan is developed according to the patient's medical needs, circumstances, and stated objectives.
"We pride ourselves on providing comprehensive care, from diagnosis and planning through surgery and postoperative care," Dr Amjadi said. "We partner with a team of specialists to provide complete care."
The practice aims to reduce the administrative and clinical challenges that can accompany specialist treatment. Its team assists with consultation scheduling, procedure planning, communication with relevant healthcare providers, and postoperative reviews, giving patients a defined pathway from their initial appointment through recovery.
Training Across Australia and International Centres
Dr Amjadi completed medical and dental doctorates in Adelaide, Australia. He graduated from Flinders University with distinction and received a High Distinction in Plastic Surgery.
From 2009 to 2011, he served as a Burn Surgery Fellow at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. He subsequently completed plastic surgery residency training in Sydney between 2011 and 2016, gaining experience across several major hospitals and surgical settings.
His further training included a cosmetic surgery fellowship at BK Hospital in South Korea, facial surgery training in Taipei, Taiwan, and melanoma surgery training at the Melanoma Institute in 2016. He also completed advanced body contouring training with Dr Al Ali and participated in a body contouring course in Switzerland under Dr Pascal.
This combination of medical, dental, reconstructive, and plastic surgery education informs the practice's approach to anatomy, surgical planning, function, and appearance. It also supports collaboration with professionals from related medical disciplines when additional expertise is required.
Clinical Experience Across Thousands of Procedures
According to practice records, Dr Amjadi treats more than 1,000 skin cancers annually. He has also performed more than 1,000 body contouring operations and over 5,000 general plastic surgery procedures during his career.
Skin cancer care represents a substantial part of his clinical work. Services include assessment, surgical treatment, reconstruction when required, and postoperative monitoring. Treatment recommendations are based on the location and characteristics of the lesion, the patient's health, and the potential functional or reconstructive requirements of the procedure.
Dr Amjadi's broader surgical experience includes procedures intended to address reconstructive, functional, and cosmetic concerns. The practice applies the same consultation and planning process across these areas, with attention given to medical suitability, informed decision making, and continuity of care.
Research, Recognition, and Professional Development
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Amjadi has contributed to surgical research as the first author of many articles published in international peer reviewed journals.
He was a finalist in the Australian Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Essay Competition in 2014 and 2015. He was also a finalist for the New South Wales Minister of Health's Registrar of the Year Award in 2014.
Earlier professional recognition included the Best Medical Presentation Award at the Australia and New Zealand Burns Association Conference in 2009 and a Graduate Studies Educational Scholarship at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in 2008.
Dr Amjadi is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and works with the National Skin Cancer Clinics.
His previous service roles include a ministerial appointment as a Postgraduate Medical Council representative from 2007 to 2009 and participation as a Junior Medical Officer Forum representative.
Supporting Patients Throughout the Surgical Process
The practice's expansion plans place continued emphasis on communication before and after surgery. Consultations are structured to help patients understand the reason for a recommended procedure, relevant alternatives, foreseeable risks, and the expected course of recovery.
Dr Amjadi's stated approach is to treat each patient with the consideration he would expect for himself or a family member. The practice reports that some patients have continued returning over several years and have referred relatives for consultations, contributing to relationships that extend across generations.
This continuity is particularly relevant in skin cancer care, where patients may require ongoing assessments, additional procedures, or coordination with other healthcare professionals. It can also support patients receiving reconstructive or staged treatment that involves multiple appointments.
Preparing for the Next Stage of Practice Development
The planned expansion will focus on extending the practice's existing systems for consultation, surgical planning, specialist collaboration, and follow up care. The development is intended to maintain a consistent clinical process as services become available through additional locations.
