dotnet Report Builder, an embeddable open reporting tool for software developers, has just announced the launch of a major update to the code. Now available on GitHub and Nuget, the code includes a few major updates, designed to both increase the builder’s compatibility with a Bootstrap as well as to offer features like Linked Reports building. —
dotnet Report Builder is a tool that can be embedded into applications to allow end-users to general their own customized reports and dashboards. It’s a responsive, browser-based tool designed using Bootstrap without the need for plugins or third-party software, and the open-source front end allows users to create and run reports in any application that it is embedded to. The latest major update to the code marks the beginning of versions 4.0.0.
Version 4.0.0 allows dotnet Report Builder users to make use of Linked Reports. This new feature allows users to set up a link to another report or general URL from dotnet Reports with reports imported or created in the tool. This allows for an advanced drill down option. All of the new capabilities of the Linked Reports feature, and the steps in how to use it, are described in the Designing and Running Reports section on the Knowledge Base of the website.
The second major part of the update is that dotnet Report Builder is that it has now been upgraded to be compatible with the latest version of Bootstrap, which is v.4.5. Bootstrap is a widely used HTML, CSS, and JS library specifically designed responsible for front-end web development. This was a key change that has been tested by users in the Boostrap v4 branch for months prior to the release of version 4.0.0.
dotnet Report Builder will continue to build upon and reiterate on version 4.0.0 in the coming months and wishes to keep communications open with users and developers, to answer any questions, address any issues, and receive any feedback. You can find out more about dotnet Report Builder, the v 4.0.0 update, and the new features by visiting their website at https://www.dotnetreport.com.
