This month, the innovative product — Door Buddy is celebrating three years of helping household pets live in peace and harmony, according to owner Shanelle Johnson. Door Buddy was invented purely out of necessity, Johnson said, when she noticed her ten-month-old baby girl was starting to crawl around her own household, specifically into the laundry room where her chubby hands would knock over the family cat’s water dish and make a mushy mess out of the kitty kibble. Johnson described how she and her husband lamented that a baby gate was too cumbersome for the space, and, with that, the idea for Door Buddy was born.
Fast-forward three successful years on the market, and Door Buddy has evolved from the original purpose of baby proofing to an equally important dual purpose: keeping mischievous dogs away from the “cat room” of the house and easing the minds of fur baby owners everywhere. The Johnson family urges those who are new pet owners or who are desperately evaluating options such as a gate or a cat door to consider the less expensive and surprisingly handy Door Buddy, which they say will make everyone’s lives much simpler.
To commemorate the occasion of three doggone good years, fans of Door Buddy can follow along on the product’s Facebook page beginning the weekend of October 26, 2018, to participate in a giveaway that is truly the cat’s meow. Of course, following the Facebook page is also the best way to find out more exciting news pertaining to all things Door Buddy. Thanks to heartfelt feedback from cat and dog owners who are now product enthusiasts, the Johnsons have been hard at work on the next version, aptly named Door Buddy 2.0, which is set to debut in 2019 and promises to be “even better than the first.”
