New reds to hit the market include standout Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah

Dirty Laundry Vineyard (DLV) is pleased to announce that their 2017 vintage red have been bottled and will be on the market in a few short weeks. Not-to-be-missed are the 2017 Merlot that has been aging in French and American oak for 18 months, and the Syrah, which has been co-fermented with Viognier for maximum colour and flavour extraction.

The 2017 Merlot is full-bodied and lush, displaying notes of red cherry and raspberry for a fruit-forward finish. It’s a classic B.C. Merlot that pairs well with barbeque, burgers, and other hearty dishes like spaghetti and meatballs. If we want red on the backyard table this summer, The Company is the wine to pick.

The Syrah is much-anticipated, with DLV’s last vintage from 2016 becoming a sold-out success. With the characteristic spice of a typical B.C. Syrah marrying with chocolate notes on the nose, this red is also characterized by a fruit-forward and rich taste. Made to pair with braised lamb or other grilled meats.

If we’re anxious to sample some of DLV’s bottles right away, look for the 2018 Hush rosé. It’s the quintessential patio sipper and our top selling wine. This blend has notes of ripe strawberry, ruby red grapefruit and cotton candy. A bright and balanced acidity makes it very drinkable.

To get the full Dirty Laundry experience, we can visit our Summerland winery for a tasting and tour every day this summer. Our winery has a long history in the Okanogan, and it’s a story that’s worth hearing.

Each Thursday this summer, we are hosting Wine & Brine Lobster Nights to really turn up the fun. Beautiful, fresh maritime lobsters are served up with our local wines for a meal we won’t forget. At DLV, The Vineyard want to make wine fun and accessible. We believe learning about wine should be easy, and never snobbish.
